Municipality Fyli
Municipality
Situated in the Attica region of Greece, the Municipality of Fyli is a dynamic peri-urban area that includes the Municipal Units of Ano Liosia, Zefyri, and Fyli. Covering 110 square kilometers, it is home to around 49,000 residents. Nestled on the slopes of Parnitha Mountain, a National Park since 1961, Fyli boasts a blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage.
Despite its scenic landscape, Fyli faces significant challenges. Such challenges include energy poverty, environmental degradation, and the impacts of climate change. In response, the municipality has committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing energy efficiency. Central to this commitment is the “Vision for Energy Autonomy,” which guides various projects aimed at achieving sustainability and the notable initiative of establishing the FAETHON energy community.
